I’ve used this app for years to keep track of my expenses across different categories. It’s easy to use and a good reference of my monthly spending.

I use it for top level summary, to show under or over my budget per month, now that I’m retired.

I love how straightforward and easy to use Best Budget is. I use it for all our monthly spending, and have done for years. It’s also really useful at the end of the year for working out expenses totals. Love the simplicity, I just wanted a reliable way to track spending. Never had a problem with it, and you can back up to iCloud or Dropbox. Love the new update (October 2022)! I especially like the simplified backup options at the top of Settings. It might be a good idea to put these at the top of the main page to remind you to back up. Update: I've been using Best Budget for about 10 years at least, and it's a fantastic tool for staying on top of your monthly budget. Simple to use and very reliable. It also provides very useful charts of categorized annual spending for your accountant.

The app is good, although developer became exponentially greedier recently. I am getting a paywall to upgrade to the subscription-based version every time I need to make a new entry which is frustrating. I am using a paid version of an app already.

I have had the basic for quite a few years now… easier for me, but now everytime I make an entry it wont stop trying to get me to upgrade. Getting ready to dump it and find a better one. (Unless they remove that)

I use this regularly and it's definitely helping me stay on budget. Love the graphics, and it's very user friendly and easy to customize.

Easy to use and setup your budgets!

Being able to track my spending and watch the amount of money I’m able to save each month because of this app is super easy.

Can’t email csv or pdf to myself, the app just closes anytime I try to export any reports. So frustrating and I’ve tried to email them with no response

This app is very easy to use, gave me a clear idea of my spending and allowed me to shuffle funds between different expenses. Loved the reports, too! Highly recommended.

I have used this app to budget for many years. I’m not a fan of the updated “improvements”, but overall it’s the best one I’ve used.

I was happy with this app for so many years, until this recent upgrade. Unnecessary color change, layout clutter and extra steps needed to enter in dollar amounts such as manually entering the decimal point. Please change it back. Basic is beautiful.

Some of the new changes are for the better, but a few are not improvements. Having to delete the auto filled transaction name and fill in your own is frustrating. Adding the decimal to each transaction instead of it automatically adding it in when you insert numbers is a downgrade from the last version. I understand the reason behind making the app subscription based but it would be nice to have a one time purchase option. Other than that I like the simplicity of the app and the monthly/quarterly breakdown of my spending.

I really like the envelope style of budgets with this. I have used it for years and it worked great for me. Then within the last week, an automatic update changed everything for the worse. Suddenly, it added extra stuff on the screen that made the font smaller for the budgets - so the things I want to see are harder to see. Second, when I go to add a transaction, the budget name automatically fills in the transaction name. So I have to backspace to delete that before I can enter where I’m actually making the purchase. Third, when I go to fill in the amount, I now have to manually add a decimal point. It used to be automatic. Fourth, I loved the dark mode because it was easy on the eyes, but now they’ve added white or light sections to the screen that bug my eyes. They’ve also added hideous yellow, orange, and green colors. It reminds me of my parents’ couch from the 70s. This used to be the best, simple budgeting app. Now it’s clunky and harder to use, takes longer to create each transaction, and is just aesthetically unappealing and harder on the eyes. I paid for the full version back when it was a one-time payment, but now they want $10/year for the Pro version, and there are constant pop up ads for that. Unfortunately, they’ve removed all the features I liked about it and just made it more annoying, so I especially don’t want to pay a monthly fee for it. I wish they’d revert it to the old app’s look, feel, and features. It used to be so great.

I’ve used this app for years. It’s better than a lot of others I’ve tried. I do wish you’d update the look of the app.

I appreciate that I am able to set up as many budget categories as I need, and that I can add more whenever I choose! This app has helped me stay on track with my money. Thank you so much!

I’ve had this app for over 3 years. From all the other ones I researched, this app was easy to use.

I have been using this app for four or five years now to track my expenses, and for me it's just about perfect. I didn’t want an app that connected to my bank or credit card, just a way to track my spending by category. There are some features I’d like to see work differently (for example, it would be great for the reports to include how much you spent by category by month in dollar totals, not just percents, as well as how much you were over or under budget in a category for a selected time range). But it does the basic functions I want it to do very well, and I can export a CSV when I want to analyze further. I recommend it! [updated 2021]

Amazing app I’ve used for years. This app really helped me and my wife’s finances. Additional features I would like to see is being able to transfer one expenses into another budget in case it was placed into the wrong budget. Another feature would be a way to use Siri or voice to add an expense. Thanks for everything.

I bought this app when my favorite app stopped working on my old phone. At first, it wasn't quite what I was looking for. You know how it is, when you have a favorite of something and you have to replace it, the second one doesn't quite measure up. Well, after using this app for a little over a month it turns out this was EXACTLY what I was looking for. I can put in my income, bills, budget items and it gives me a running total on everything. It's all right there! No flipping around the app to find things. It's so simple.

Saves me so much money - this app is simple and has all the features of an envelope budgeting system. Perfect!!

Needs improvements, specially with money moves from the paycheck to the expenses, also would be great if you could have a time stamp and not be required to write what is it every time for certain expenses, because you categorize them already

I’ve been using this app for about 2 years and absolutely love it. Previously I was always transferring from my savings to cover my expenses and realized, that’s not going to work for too long. Now I track my expenses according to income, and even include savings.

Basically I’ll never use another app. I’ve had it for a few years now. This one is perfect for me and so simple and user friendly! I love how easy it is to personalize. I’ve tried dozens of budget apps. This one exceeds them all.

Over the years I have used a bunch of different budget apps. This is the one that I have been able to stick with (yay!). It is both simple enough to use for me (without me getting frustrated)and yet complex enough to do the things I need to do the things I need it to do FINALLY! Success!!

I’ve tried multiple different apps and spreadsheets but this is by far the best. Worth the $0.99 for the full app. Reminders are great and I’ve been able to save a ton by staying on track!! Thank you for such a great product!!!

I wanted a simple envelope style budgeting app, and so far this is delivering. I haven't rolled into next month yet, so hopefully that is a smooth transition.

Great app so far all it needs is customizable rollover.. say like if I only want to rollover up to $25 in a budget and possibly a running tally of the money I didn’t spend so I can transfer it to savings !!

This is a useful app except for one problem. You can’t go back and edit a previous cycle. So it really only has the purpose of tracking current cycle spending. It can’t be used to accurately record all spending to have a sense of true spending.

I wish Apple would show us how much an app currently costs. (Financially-speaking.) because nothing with Best Budget has apparently changed in the past 2 years or so. As long as you’re paying no more than $1.99 then I totally recommend Best Budget. Great search functionality. One qualm I had in the past doesn’t even come to mind- so I must have found a decent workaround.

Nice and simple and it don’t have all that crap in it and you can creat more that one budget

This is actually one of the best budget apps I could find. I've been using it only for about 3 months now so I'm still trying to learn. I love that it's simple and that you can enter manually and not have it linked with your bank account. Those other apps like that were a nightmare to me and too complicated. I DON'T like...Lets say you set $60 to spend on the dog. You spend $70. You transfer $10 from another budget to balance it. The dog envelope doesn't tell you that you actually spent $70. It just will say you're balanced. The only way to know what you spent that month is to manually calculate it. That would be an easy fix. You budgeted for $60 and somewhere within that budget should have in red or something what you actually spent so you'd easily know for next month. I also haven't quite figured out the rollover feature when I want to change the amount of that budget from month to month. I'm still learning when all that can be done and have it be a smooth transition to the next cycle.

This app exceeds my expectations in every way!

Love this app. Can tell at a glance where I stand for the month. Easy to add to past months. Need ability to re-order the categories for when I add new ones.

I have truly enjoyed this app! When looking for budget apps I was looking for something I could keep track of my spending but not have to give my banking info! This was the app for me! I had the free version for a while and then needed more entries so I paid the small fee for the full app and it's totally worth it! This app has opened my eyes to where I spend a lot of my money and has allowed me to cut back on unnecessary purchases! My only complaint is the new color scheme that came with the new update but that's just a personal taste thing I guess. I would totally recommend this app!

No need to compromise the security of your financial info by linking to bank accounts. Perfect for tracking in real time expenses and income according to budget categories. Works super well and is easy and logical and straightforward. Support was responsive the one time I used it to ask a question.
